Although I am based in the UK and often photograph in England and Poland, my camera has taken me to many beautiful places across Europe. One of them was Germany, the setting for this portrait session with the wonderful Jackie. There is something exciting about photographing in a new location, with fresh light and unfamiliar textures.
Street art, posters and rainbow stripes gave us a brilliant backdrop. Jackie brought so much energy that the bright walls never had a chance to steal the show.
A striking black and white building made a calmer setting, with a little garden and a wall to sit on. It is one of those places that makes you stop and look twice.
And then there were the funny corners you only find by exploring, like a bright red door, painted tyres full of flowers and a wall of gnomes. A sense of discovery quietly shaped the whole mood of this session.
